Tolu doesn't arrive with a house style. He arrives with questions—and builds a visual world around the answer.
The work
Tolu Bello directs, shoots and shapes images across fashion, music, culture and personal stories. Through Macverri Production he moves between polished campaigns and intimate short films—an H&M summer story on an open field, a candlelit music video after dark, a quiet letter set to an analog radio. The scale changes; the instinct doesn't. He is looking for the moment a person stops performing for the camera and simply exists in front of it.
On set
His sets run calm. He directs talent through conversation rather than instruction, builds the room—light, colour, texture, sound—until the scene feels lived in, and keeps the crew close to the idea so every department is making the same film. Some projects call for a single camera and a light footprint; others need a full crew across several days. Either way the process stays collaborative, clear and intentional.
What drives him
Presence. Images that make people feel seen rather than simply styled. Tolu is drawn to identity, ritual, memory and the energy of a community in motion, and he treats every brief—a wedding, a brand film, an artist's debut—as a chance to tell a story that belongs to the people inside it.
Working together
Projects begin with a conversation and a clear creative spine: pitch decks, treatments, storyboards and scripts before cameras roll, then direction, cinematography, edit and colour through to final delivery. Larger productions are crewed properly from the start, because a well-supported crew is what quality actually looks like. Based in London and Kitchener, Ontario, and available to travel.
